Our name comes from a line about lighting incense to find a quiet place inside yourself, and finding it in every season. It is a nice thought, but it only means anything if the wood underneath it is real. So that is what we spend our time on.

One island, and mountains with names
Hainan has been a recorded source of agarwood for over a thousand years, and the island's material has a reputation for a clean, sweet burn rather than a heavy smoke. That reputation is the reason we do not blend in wood from anywhere else.
We buy from named growing areas — Jianfengling, Bawangling, Limu Mountain among them — and every batch we press is labelled with the grade and the mountain it came from. If a buyer asks where a batch originated, we can answer with a place, not a marketing word.
Old method, modern discipline
The traditional part of agarwood is the sourcing and the grading — that knowledge lives in people, not machines. The modern part is consistency: the same blend, the same burn, batch after batch.
Selection by hand
Wood is graded by hand and by nose before it goes anywhere near a press. A high grade cannot be rescued later in the process, so it is settled at this stage or not at all.
Pressed, not padded
Our top blends are binderless: agarwood powder and nothing else. It is the slower and more expensive way to make a stick, and it is the only way to be sure nothing cheap is hiding behind the wood.
Checked before it ships
Every batch is burned and checked before packing. If it does not match the reference for that blend, it does not go out under that name — which is what makes a reorder safe.
Named, not vague
Blends carry their grade and origin. "Premium agarwood" tells a buyer nothing; "Bawangling ant-hole" tells them exactly which conversation they are in.

We are a registered Chinese company with a registered trademark. Buyers sending money across borders are entitled to check that, and we would rather you did.

Four seasons, in the blends themselves
Our catalogue is not numbered. The blends are named after Chinese poems and moments in the year — which is a good way to remember which one a customer is asking for.
春 · Spring
Chunxiao, "spring dawn" — resin formed in worm-bored pockets.
夏 · Summer
Guanshanhai — Bawangling ant-hole wood, wild and varied.
秋 · Autumn
Wanlaiqiu, "autumn comes late" — dense black-oil head wood.
冬 · Winter
Dongzhi, "winter solstice" — pressed binderless, wood alone.
